Do you have recommendations for visitors to truly experience the authentic charm of our village?
One of the jewels of our country is located in Methoni and this is none other than our wonderful Castle. You can't get enough of exploring it and every time you leave even more fascinated. One of the most exciting sunsets you can see from the various points of Methoni whether you are in Tapia or at sunset. Methoni is an ideal destination for family vacations since it has a five-mile wide sea and of course in our place you can taste the best food in the wider area in all the restaurants and this is 100% objective.
Can you share a special memory or story that reflects the unique character of our community?
In recent years, the re-enactment of the Naval Battle of Methoni, which took place during the years of the Greek revolution, has been revived with great success when Ibrahim landed in Methoni with the Turkish-Egyptian fleet and was confronted by the Greeks with Admiral Andreas Miaoulis. Therefore, every year on April 30 we honor our glorious fighters. It is an event that deserves to be celebrated. live up close.
If you could turn back time, would you do anything differently in your life?
If I could go back in time I would do exactly the same things but also other things that I didn't do.....the only thing that is certain is that I would again live a large part of my life in Methoni with the exact same people!!!!
